Avrio AI

Job Seeker Privacy Policy (Consumer)

Version 1.1 · Effective date: November 1, 2026 · Last updated: November 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Avrio AI, Inc. ("Avrio," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our websites, mobile apps, email notifications, and our AI interview agent Rio (the "Services") as a candidate or job seeker.

1. The short version

  • We match and evaluate: We use your profile and answers to match you to jobs and present your qualifications to hiring teams.
  • AI assists, humans decide: Scores and rankings are recommendations. A human on the hiring team makes every rejection and hiring decision.
  • What employers see: Employers see the interviews you take for their jobs, with your transcript, Fit Score, and a summary.
  • Audio: Where voice interviews are offered, spoken answers are processed in real time by Amazon Bedrock speech models. We do not intentionally store audio recordings, and we do not create voiceprints. The text of what you say is kept as part of your interview transcript.
  • Training: We do not currently use your interview transcripts to train AI models. We will ask for your consent before we do.
  • No data sales: We do not sell your personal data or run third-party advertising trackers in our candidate application.
  • We keep your interview records: We keep your profile, interview transcripts, and scores unless you ask us to delete them (see section 8).

2. Who is responsible for your data

Avrio AI, Inc. is the data controller (or "business") for personal data collected directly from job seekers to create accounts, build profiles, conduct Rio interviews, and calculate Fit Scores.

When you take an interview invited by an employer, that employer is the data controller for the application records, scorecards, and transcripts delivered into their hiring workflow. Once an employer receives that data, that employer's own privacy notice governs their use of your information.

3. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account and contact information: Name, email address, phone number, location, target roles, desired salary range, and work authorization status.
  • Profile details: Resume/CV content, employment history, educational background, key skills, and professional network profile links.
  • Interviews and conversations: Your text responses and, where voice interviews are offered, your spoken answers to Rio. We retain verbatim text transcripts, scores, feedback, and summaries derived from them.
  • Uploaded documents: Credentials and portfolio links you upload to your profile.
  • Preferences: Time zone settings and communication preferences.

Information collected automatically

Device identifiers, browser type, IP address, log data, application diagnostic logs, approximate location derived from IP, essential operational cookies, and push notification tokens. During an interview, we record when you leave the interview window. Our candidate website loads fonts from Google Fonts and images from a content delivery network, which receive your IP address when the page loads.

Sensitive information and voice data

We do not request or score candidates based on protected characteristics (such as race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or health status). Algorithmic Fairness and Design Safeguards: Avrio's algorithms are designed to exclude protected characteristics, omit candidate names during evaluation, refrain from ranking universities or utilizing outside institution rankings, and avoid using location data for socio-economic assessments. We collect work authorization status solely to establish legal job eligibility. Furthermore, we do not create voiceprints or biometric templates, nor do we analyze voice patterns to identify candidates.

4. How we use your data

We process candidate personal data to:

1. Provide matching and evaluation: Build your profile, match you to relevant roles, deliver interview invitations, calculate Fit Scores (out of 100) along with dimension sub-scores, and generate candidate summaries.

2. Communicate with you: Send service notifications, interview invitations, and reminders by email, and push notifications in our mobile app where enabled.

3. Ensure platform integrity: Detect gaming, abuse, or impersonation during AI interviews (including recording when you leave the interview window), enforce our Terms of Use, and secure candidate accounts.

4. Audit and improve fairness: Review scoring for bias and accuracy.

5. Automated tools, AI scoring, and human review

  • How scoring works: Rio analyzes your answers and resume against the job's requirements to produce a Fit Score, using the same scoring criteria for every candidate for a role. Scores are generated by AI models and can vary slightly between runs. Algorithmic Fairness and Design Safeguards: Avrio's algorithms are designed not to take into account protected characteristics, do not process candidate names, do not rank universities or utilize outside rankings, and do not use location data to make socio-economic judgments.
  • Humans make every decision: The platform surfaces candidate matches for human review and cannot automatically reject or hire candidates. Avrio requires its customers to conduct live human interviews (in-person or remote) before making any final hiring decision. Automated scores and AI recommendations serve exclusively as supporting inputs for independent human evaluation. Qualified human evaluators independently review automated recommendations, scores, and candidate materials prior to taking any adverse action or issuing a job offer.
  • Review requests: You can request a human review of any AI score, match ranking, or interview question by contacting privacy@goavrio.com. Every request is investigated by a trained member of our compliance team within 30 days.

  • Legal Disclosures: We disclose data if required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or applicable law.

We do not sell candidate data or share candidate phone numbers or emails with advertising brokers or cross-context behavioral ad networks.

8. Data retention and deletion

  • What we keep: We retain candidate profile data, resume details, and interview transcripts for up to 24 months from your last active interaction to support ongoing job matching, or until account closure. Audit logs and aggregated score reports are retained strictly as required by applicable law.
  • Audio recordings: We do not intentionally store audio recordings. Ephemeral voice data processed during interviews is deleted immediately following speech-to-text processing.
  • Deletion requests: You can ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@goavrio.com. Upon verified request, we will delete or de-identify your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required. Backup copies are overwritten in accordance with standard 30-day data rotation cycles.
  • Employer Records: Transcripts already delivered to an employer's hiring pipeline remain in that employer's account to meet equal employment opportunity recordkeeping duties (e.g., EEOC/Title VII rules).

9. State and Regional Privacy Rights

  • United States (California, Delaware, and State Privacy Laws): You have rights to know, access, correct, port, and delete your personal data, as well as the right to opt out of automated profiling. We do not sell or share candidate data as defined by California law.
  • EEA and UK Candidates: You have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of your data, as well as to object to automated decision-making. Transfers of personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to the United States rely on direct EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) certifications and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, for direct-to-consumer data processing.
